#YARC2020, #SARC2020, and #ArmedWithABingo: My 2020 Reading Challenges

2020 hasn’t properly started and I’ve already decided to sign myself up for not one, not two, but THREE reading challenges!!

That’s right! Not sorry at all (but I’m pretty sure I’ll be sorry later šŸ˜…šŸ˜…)

So the first reading challenge I signed up for is #ArmedWithABingo, hosted by Kriti Khare (@_armedwithabook) and Ariel (@ariel_reads). What drew me to it is the lovely and personalized bingo cards for every participant! I mean, let’s face it, who doesn’t love having their names written in cool fonts and colors! Also, the 24 prompts are so easy and not very limited at all. Here is my personalized bingo card šŸ˜šŸ˜

See how cool my name looks in it? Also check out the prompts! I love them! I’ve already listed all the books I’m gonna read for each prompts šŸ˜šŸ˜

Next challenge I decided on is Year of the Asian Reading Challenge, hosted by lovely Shealea, CW from The Quiet Pond (@thequietpond), Vicky from Vicky Who Reads, and Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams.

What drew me to this challenge is the hype I heard from Twitter mutuals, as well as its concept. To read Asian books throughout the year! The whole freaking year!! To read brilliant books by brilliant Asian writers, I’m super thrilled. No other condition for this challenge. Just read any books from any genre and category as long as the writer is from Asian descent.

Not just that! The number of books by Asian authors you finish this year also gives you super cool badges!! Head over to any of the hosts’ blogs, or this post to find the super cutest badges and to know all the info!

Now last but definitely not the least is the South Asian Reading Challenge, or SARC. The hosts are the amazing Fanna from Fanna || Wants The World To Read and Nandini from Novels and Nebulas. Fanna once tagged me in one of the tweets about SARC last year, but due to being busy with finals (still am!) I decided not to participate (silly me!!). But now that I know I got the rest of the year off after January, I thought “Why not!” I’m South Asian myself and any book by South Asian authors also counts as Asian šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰. So automatically any book I read by a South Asian authors automatically means I’ll have one more book read in YARC too!

Two birds with one stone, amirite?!

So, the rule of SARC is simple. Like YARC, all you gotta do is read any books by South Asian authors, regardless of genres and categories. You got the whole 2020 for this! The announcement post got book recommends by South Asian authors too.

And what’s common about all three challenges?

They’ve lined up some amazing events (e.g. readathon, giveaway as prize, Twitter chat, Bookstagram challenges, and newsletters!). And if you’re a bookworm like me and have a Goodreads challenge of 20+ books, do any one (or be like me and do all three šŸ˜œ) challenges to help you finish many awesome books and do it with equally awesome bookworm communities!

So what are you waiting for? Sign up for #ArmedWithABingo (sign-up deadline is March 15, 2020), #YARC2020, and/or #SARC2020 reading challenges.

As for me, my goal this year is to read 50+ books by Asian authors (some of them South Asian authors), books that also check out the #ArmedWithABingo’s prompts!

I can’t wait to start soon!
